An exciting opportunity for the right person to join us as a Mechanical Design Engineer, working in our highly successful and unique business, manufacturing fuel systems products for classic vehicles.

Reporting to the General Manager the candidate will be responsible for the design and development of new products including prototyping, testing and process implementation.

Candidates must have an engineering background and be experienced in product design using both traditional and modern methods. A high level of proficiency in the use of CAD Software is essential as is the ability to manage design and engineering projects from start to finish.

A drive to learn and report on new technologies and manufacturing processes along with a proven ability to transfer concept ideas into reality will be considered highly advantageous.

Salary £30-40k depending on experience.

Trying out an AMAL Premier Carburetter, in real life.

"It appears that one of the most problematic things about keeping Brit Bikes running properly is the carburetors. The old Amals are prone to warpage and wear, not to mention fuel leakage, etc. Well, help is on the way! No, not from Mikuni or some other make, which will introduce problems of their own.

This hope is the new Amal Premier from the Burlen Company, which took over building Amal carburetors. I was fortunate to get a couple of these "premiers" from John Healy of Coventry Spares to give them a real world trial.
